As part of a new study, nearly 20,000 subjects were followed for over five years with no detectable differences in depression or mood between placebo and vitamin D groups

The results of the largest clinical trial ever conducted into the relationship between vitamin D and depression suggest the important vitamin does not improve mood or prevent depression. The randomized, placebo-controlled trial did not investigate subjects with pre-existing vitamin D deficiencies, instead focusing on the effect of long-term supplements in otherwise healthy subjects.
